About Ashley Williamson
Ensuring my clients feel safe and comfortable in my office is the most important part of my job. This is the starting point for fulfilling and effective therapy, and a strength-based relationship between us.
While I utilize a variety of counseling techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing – these fancy terms aren’t what people are seeking. Rather, they want someone who listens, and guides them in a path of discovery and healing. That is my goal.
Yoga & Family
I am a certified yoga instructor, and have been teaching at various studios for the past ten years. For me yoga is a remarkable pathway for personal discovery, and through yoga instruction I’ve enjoyed helping people realize the powerful healing connection between mind and body. When I’m not counseling or teaching yoga, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 21 years and my three teenage children. If there is still time left over, I love to hike in the beautiful mountains of Colorado with my dogs.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Southern Methodist University and my Masters in Counseling from Regis University in 2014. I’ve worked at the Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center counseling adolescent boys during their stay at this high security facility. In addition, I have experience working with adoptive teens and their personal concerns with cultural identity, adoption, abandonment, body image, addiction and confidence.
